Since planting from HTB in 2014 with a team of 12, St. Swithin’s now has 3 congregations with a usual Sunday attendance of over 300 and we run alpha every term in a variety of contexts from prisons to coffee shops to schools. There is much more to do as we grow to become a resourcing church and as we seek to encourage people to play their unique part to: - REACH people with the love of Jesus, with a particular focus on students and rising generations. - RELEASE disciples who make disciples - REVITALISE the city and region. As part of our designation as a city centre resourcing church in the Diocese of Lincoln we are working towards playing our part in seeing a a series of church plants across Lincolnshire. To these ends we are looking for a Church Planting Manager to provide strategic support for St. Swithin’s in helping us play our part in this wider vision.

Based at St Swithin's, this role will provide a ‘central service’ for the plant churches of St. Swithin’s, working closely with the Operations Team and the Planting Curates to ensure that the church plants and the planting curates are supported operationally through the following stages:

1. Planning, financing and development of resources and systems for St. Swithin’s to be a planting hub and in turn to provide the things for a church plant pre-launch.
2. Support with the launch of the new church plant.
3. Regular support and development of the team, systems and resources post-launch.

This infrastructure function is critical in order for them to be effective in mission and ministry, seeing lives and communities transformed.

This role will provide a critical central function to mobilise resources for the church plants and seek funding to ensure that this is sustainable and replicable.

The role will be starting ASAP with interviews held in December. If you are interested in applying for the role, please click below for all the information.

St. Swithin’s, Lincoln, has en exciting opportunity to appoint an associate vicar to support the development of the church as a city centre resource church in the Diocese of Lincoln. The purpose of this new initiative funded by money from the Strategic Development Fund is to renew the urban church in the larger urban centres of the diocese where under 1% of the population attend an Anglican church.
The new associate vicar will support the development of St. Swithin’s, Lincoln as a Resource Church by releasing the vicar to oversee the strategic development of church planting teams from St. Swithin’s, by sharing in the leadership of St. Swithin’s and its witness in the parish, city and region it serves. In particular, this role will take a lead on discipleship - encouraging and equipping the community of St. Swithin’s to be disciple making disciples.

St. Swithin’s is looking for someone who has a vision for the city and resourcing and renewing discipleship and mission across the region it serves, with ministry experience and leadership in a large, growing church with an ability to make disciples, grow teams and develop leaders. They should be someone who can cast vision and inspire others to take steps of faith, collaborative in approach and with strong communication, preaching and teaching skills.

If you are inspired to:
- REACH people with the love of Jesus, with a particular focus on students and rising generations.
- RELEASE disciples who make disciples
- REVITALISE the city and region

We are seeking to appoint a Church Planting Curate who will play a key part in an ambitious and exciting vision for Lincolnshire. They will be a passionate follower of Christ who has experience of the ministry of the Holy Spirit in their lives and seeks to see people set free to grow to their full potential as disciple making disciples. They will train at St. Swithin’s but also be outwards facing towards a new church plant in terms of the missional aspects of their training. They will spend time preparing the ground in the chosen location within the diocese.

The role will require building up relationships with the congregation at St. Swithin’s so that when they lead a church plant, (ideally at the end of year 2 / beginning of year 3 of the curacy) they will be in a position to take a small team with them. As part of the programme, the Planting Curate will have some initial funds to recruit a small staff team to plant with them and to help ‘set-up’ the new location for mission.

Working closely with the Vicar, PCC and senior leadership team, the Planting Curate will support the development of St. Swithin’s as a resource church by sharing in the leadership of St. Swithin’s in its mission to the parish, city and region it serves. They will assist in the priestly ministry in the life of the parish, including preaching, leadership of services and occasional offices and pastoral care, as part of the team of clergy and lay ministers. Whilst at St, Swithin’s, a key part of this role will involve working alongside 18-25’s, developing mission and developing potential leaders for the church planting pipeline
